*This solution is valid for people who arent using the official rom but a custom rom on their Android devices*
I stumbled into this issue yesterday which took my entire day to find out the solution.
What i tried;
- Current phone number on current device with custom rom = ERROR
- Backup phone number on current device with custom rom = Works
- Current phone number on backup device with custom rom = Works
- Current phone number on current device with original rom = Works
Which made me realised that neither my device is banned nor my phone number. The issue was using a custom rom with my current phone number and device. Turns out you have to check the Play Store if your device is certified (which was not).
[To see that, go to Play Store > click on your account (image) > Settings > Info > Play Protect-Certification]
To get rid of that, you need Magisk to hide the root from Play Store and Google Play Services while flashing an addon called "Universal Safetynet Fix v2.4.0". After that you need to clean the user data and cache of the Play Store and Google Play Services for your device to be certified.
Afterwards try signing in to your Whatsapp account and viola! No more warnings! 🙂
